Thanks for your time on this concern. That may be, but it has nothing to do with your answer, which said larger tires are heavier, and more to do with how the car is driven and engine power curves. Complaint Number: 10185892 Incident Date: March 21, 2007 Date Added to File: March 22, 2007 Description of the Complaint: Speedometer quit working at 61071 miles 500. Only the speedometer exhibits this behavior. This would seem to be a huge safety concern.
Thanks for your time on this concern. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. The contact stated that the windshield molding had to be replaced on the front of the vehicle. We took the boat down to the river to go gigging at night. The failure mileage was 66,700 and the current mileage was 66,919. This should be fixed by the company as it was a safety problem.
The contact stated that the speedometer displays incorrect speeds or just fails completely. Alot of people are having problems this should be a recall. You could theoretically repair the old one, but why bother. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. Wish me luck, hopefully I won't have to be filing a law suit due to being in an accident.
Sadly, it seems they are hoping many will not find out about it, and they will not have to replace many gauge clusters. I was returning from an out of state trip when I noticed I was passing everyone on the interstate. The contact noticed that when driving for a long period of time and coming to a complete stop then start moving again the speedometer will stay at zero. Not because of any maintenance problems on my part. Please please do a recall on these two items.
I am furious that my wife and children could have been seriously injured, due to her unknowing speed. Nothing has been done to correct the issue yet. In order to get the ac back, we have to pull over and turnoff the engine and then start it back up. I will definatly be checking into this speedometer extended warranty I've read about on here!! Why don't they make a recall? Well as time progressed, it got worse to the point were now, it operates for about 10 miles than quits regardless of temp, I been fighting with a dealer network who I have bought personally 10 cars from in the past 10-15 years. Well as time progressed, it got worse to the point were now, it operates for about 10 miles than quits regardless of temp, I been fighting with a dealer network who I have bought personally 10 cars from in the past 10-15 years. St accurrence just over 36000 miles --speedometer would read faster by about 20 mph driv iving it has done this numerous time, S but I found if turning key on and off a few times it would be alright for a few weeks.
I have pulled apart Four 4 differect Speedometers in which the odometers did not work. I'd really like to get this problem fixed, and I don't think I should have to pay several hundred dollars out of my pocket for something Chevy already knew was wrong with the cluster wiring. Begins working again and will soon thereafter malfunction as just described. On my instrument gauges I have fuel, tachometer, battery, speedometer, and oil temp, and coolant temp gauges. I understand my vehicle is 10 years old and I live in the northeast but I observed a lot of rust under my vehicle.
It finally stopped working and now only reads 60 mph regardless of actual speed. Speedometer sticks at 70 mph, then decreases to 40 mph and ultimitely falls to 0 mph even thoughthe cruise control is set at 70 mph. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the warranty was valid up to 80,000; however, his vehicle's mileage exceeded the warranty. It dose not matter I am accelerating or decelerating. Complaint Number: 10221278 Incident Date: August 21, 2007 Date Added to File: March 15, 2008 Description of the Complaint: I have had trouble with my speedometer, heat, and gas gauges. Cranking up the heat and warming the vehicle before moving it helped.
The contact restarted the vehicle and, when he depressed the accelerator pedal, the speedometer moved from 50 to 120 mph. I looked online and found hundreds of other people complaining about the same problem. It really is great being able to see how much gas I have, how fast I am going and being able to see it at night. Someone is going to get hurt or worse. The speedometer gauge itself might be completely broken.
